Gosh, a sure sign that I have too many places to post is that invariably one of them just dies out. Like this blog.
Goodness, so what has been happening with us? Let's see if I can give a bit of a bullet-ish list.
- Steven left for Iraq in February and returned home safely in September
- Sarah successfully negotiated her first year in Middle School and is in 7th grade this year. Hard to fathom, I know.
- Oldest son, Scott, bought his first home last spring and all of the headaches that come with it. He's happy and successful, and we're very proud of him.
- I went back to work in April, my gosh that's eight months ago! I'm enjoying it, and the extra income certainly isn't a bad thing. I'm working as a text editor and proofreader (and today, receptionist, lol) for a music publishing company.
- Still singing at church, but only directing once in a while as a sub. It was hard to get used to but now I'm loving it.
- Our church is now a microcosm of five churches. After we merged with them in 2006, the members of Lakeview that had been attending our church came along and joined. Just this summer, St. Paul's UMC in North Miami closed and a good number of their members have joined us. It's a blessing for us to be able to help them through their period of grieving and adjustment. We truly have been there and done that. It's not a simple process, it took me well over a year before I truly felt like I belonged. That was my own grief process, and no fault of anyone at the new church. They've been wonderful. :-)
- Christmas is in one week? I'm so not ready. Really.
- Rumor is we're getting a puppy in a few weeks, pics will be forthcoming.
I'm spending a good deal of time over at Facebook, and have a ton of family pictures posted there. Feel free to come and say hello! Click here!
Just in case I miss you all again, have a blessed Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a fabulous New Year!

Do you have any phobias?
Submitted by Amirul B Ruslan.
Oh boy yes.
Heights, although flying isn't an issue.
Drowning.
Claustrophobia, big time. If I have on a shirt with too high a collar, or something that is too tight, I can't breathe.
I also have an irrational fear of having car trouble. :-/
I hope that the coming year is all you wish for and more.

Wow, I love the new holiday layouts!
It's been forever since I posted here and so much is happening. We're coming up on the big choir program at church this Sunday. Hubby and I are both in the choir, and our daughter is in the children's Angel choir that will be joining us for a few sections. I think this is the first time that we've all performed together. I'll have our son snag some pictures.
This same son leaves for basic training on December 27th. In a sudden burst of maturity he has enlisted in the Marine Corps. Yesterday he found out that he has met all of the qualifications and once he finishes basic, he will be going to MP school. It's just what he wanted, so we're very proud of him even if mom is distressed at losing him. *sniff*
I'll try to update more often.

What would the title of your autobiography be?

"Confessions of An Aging Fangirl"
Do you play any musical instruments?
Piano, for for almost forty years, :-) I can strum some simple guitar
chords, and I finally accomplished singing and playing tambourine at
the same time, lol. I'm a church musician, and can serve s the
substitue pianist if needed although I'd much rather be singing,
So here in Miami we're battening down the hatches in anticipation of
Ernesto paying us a visit early Wednesday. I did my last minute supply
run this morning, and was finished and home by 9 am. :-)
